it's hard to escape the splendor of where i live. but i find myself craving lines. angles. structures.

if i had a recipe for balance, i would put it after the jump. instead there are more nature photos. an orchid. and a butterfly. if you're into that kind of thing...

rhubarb jam

the end of the rhubarb season.  time for freezing and canning. two batches of jam so far- strawberry rhubarb and rhubarb ginger.

rhubarb bread

it seemed like the perfect day for baking bread.
storm clouds building. rain pouring down.
i picked rhubarb in between squalls.
and then the power went out.
so i brought my baking to my brother's cabin.
where there is a gas lantern.
and a gas oven.

sno balls

it is good. every once and awhile.
to take a break from the wonderful.
and natural.
to indulge in marshmallow fluff.

tiny tiny wild strawberries. it took days to collect enough for each of us to have dessert. completely worth it!
