it seemed like the perfect day for baking bread.
storm clouds building. rain pouring down.
i picked rhubarb in between squalls.
and then the power went out.
so i brought my baking to my brother's cabin.
where there is a gas lantern.
and a gas oven.
i used
this recipe. mostly.
instead of making lemon curd, i tossed two cups of rhubarb in a pan with a half cup of sugar and cooked it down. let it cool and then spread it on the cream cheese mixture.
oh. and then i ran out of rhubarb (because really, can there ever be enough rhubarb in a recipe)?
so i threw some blueberries in the last loaf.
the recipe made four decent size braids. good thing, since i forgot the first two in the oven...
