i am in love with the city.
i really only love the fair for its food. such brilliant creations! this year i ate fried green tomatoes, deep fried bologna on a stick, mash potatoes on a stick, hot dago on a stick, scotch eggs on a stick, strawberries and cream, chicken fried bacon.
then listened to the white iron band.
and tapes n tapes.
also saw lumberjacks and a wild west dog show. (because sometimes spending the day with a great friend means doing ridiculous things).
the following day was breakfast at a new farm to table place with s. pretty much a perfect start to my day. then lunch downtown with cousin a. and thai before heading to see vetiver, two gallants, and the fruit bats.
which is where the cupcakes on a stick come in. no group of people would be as deserving of such fun on a stick.

i just used my favorite chocolate cake. and the following cream cheese frosting:
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese,
softened 1/2 cup butter,
softened 2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
